The Wind In The Willows

The Wind in the Willows is a children’s novel by British novelist Kenneth Grahame, first published in 1908. It details the adventures of several animal friends and neighbours in the English countryside—primarily Mole, Rat, Toad, and Badger.

Our whole Year 5 recreated the traditional tale last week.  Interestingly, the production was split and 5SB took the main parts in the first half and 5VW took over in the second half – something which proved a huge success. The set was beautifully designed and the children enjoyed working out how to move a boat, a car and a caravan across a stage without crashing into anything!

With 12 rip roaring songs and fab costumes, it really was a fantastic spectacle for all.

A notable performance by Giles and Alexander who played Toad, alongside Caroline and Harry who portrayed Badger perfectly. Levi and Scarlett shared the role of Ratty and Eleanor and Charlotte were Mole.

Not forgetting everyone who worked tirelessly back stage – from the sound, music, lighting, props, wardrobe, set design – it really was a team effort.

Another triumphant performance directed by our wonderful Head of Drama, Miss Arch!
